Probus of South Simcoe

On Friday August the 4th Probus of South Simcoe asked us to do a presentation to learn about My Sister's Place. We talked about the organization, it's history, our out reach and legal services, housing and fundraising and events. After the presentation there was a questions and answer period and we stayed to talk to anyone who had more questions or wanted more information. 

At My Sister’s Place we work hard to create community awareness, we also provide educational tools for women in crisis, family and friends of women in crisis and for the public to identify, prevent or avoid an abusive relationship. Our website has a multitude of articles and documents that will help you better understand how you can spot the signs and help someone who may be in an un-healthy relationship, learn the facts about abuse against women and safety tips for those in an abuse relationship.  Unfortunately gender based violence and abuse does happen in our communities, creating public awareness about violence against women is an ongoing effort for our organization.  We try to engage the community to provide information, support and most of all dispel the myths around violence and abuse.
