Wrapped in Courage

The purple scarf is a symbol of the courage it takes a woman to leave her abuser. However, the courage of a woman alone is not enough. It takes the support of an entire community to end violence against women.

Each year in the month of November we ask the community to show their support to stopping violence against women by purchasing and wearing a purple scarf in support of My Sister's Place.

2022 marks the 10th anniversary of the Wrapped in Courage campaign and this year our scarves are produced by the Canadian company, Hamro Village, they are passionate about fair trade, dedicated to supporting marginalized artisans, empowering women, supporting ethical manufacturing and human rights. To learn more about the company log onto hamrovillage.comEach scarf is a handmade, unique, artisan product, hand-felted merino wool with integrated recycled saris; the predominant colour will be purple. No two scarves will be the same!

Scarves can be purchased through My Sister's Place by calling 705 435 9400 x226. Scraves bought through the shelter must be ordered in advance and must be paid in CASH only.
